Cartheal project intends to develop novel materials for cartilage replacement, which simultaneously present an adequate mechanical and tribological behavior, and the ability to release drugs locally to ensure a fast and successful recovery in the post-operative period, avoiding the systemic administration of drugs. An integrated methodology that includes all production steps (preparation + optimization + sterilization) will be followed to obtain efficient and safe materials.
